President’s Message
Wow, it is 2012.
It seems like not too long ago, that we were
concerned about computers crashing with Y2K. While
time has passed, we have proven that we can survive
changing our titles from Infection Control
Professional/Practitioner to Infection
Preventionist, new regulations for acute care to
report infections, and the ever increasing
resistance of those pesky little organisms. And
yet, one thing must always be kept in our minds.
As Infection Preventionist, we have a great ability
to change and move with the times, and keep pace
with the needs of our institutions and the community
around us. While we may at times appear to be on
our own, it is through the communications and
partnerships of other Infection Preventionists
around us, which can help in those times of ‘hair
raising experiences’. Our chapter is filled with a
great deal of knowledge and experience, and through
our meetings, we continue to provide a solid network
for the Infection Preventionists in our
organization.
Whether you attend only some of the meetings or all
of the meetings, APIC-SJ Chapter 11 is willing to
help, as long as you are willing to ask the
questions.
